The purpose of this assignment was to create a restaurant and create a logo for it. Then I had to extend the brand with a signage photo, to go menu, clothing item with photo, and stationery. For this project, I chose to create a French breakfast restaurant and named it Le Fouet, which means "the whisk" in French.

To begin this process I created a logo utilizing a scripted typeface which I manipulated in illustrator to reflect the curves and flow that is created when batter is whisked. I then added a whisk into the logo to go back to what the name means. For the color palette, I chose a grey-blue, navy blue, and off white because blue is very calming and creates a fancy French feel. The next step was to create signage which I did by going around my city and photographing many walls to find the right one that reflect the feel of my restaurant. I then utilized photoshop to displace my logo onto the brick. The next step was creating the togo menu. This allowed me to add new fonts that both added interest but also allowed for hierarchy in creating a menu layout. One part of illustration I did with the menu was that I created a whisk pattern. The next step was to create a piece of clothing. For this I wanted to use an apron as that would be what the employees would wear. I did a photoshoot where the model acted out many different actions that happen while backing and then I took a photo into illustration and placed the logo on the apron. The last step was creating stationery. For this I wanted to keep all of the elements and typefaces the same but utilize them to create an interesting layout.

I believe this project was a major success. All of the elements of the project come together to create a brand for the restaurant. This allowed me to learn all the parts that goes into creating a brand for a resturant.
