The first Shanghai and Hong Kong Metropolitan Culture Comparison Forum was jointly organized by the School of Humanities of Shanghai Normal University, the Institute of Humanities of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Wen Wei Po and the Shanghai Association for Overseas Exchanges. More than 100 experts and scholars from Harvard University, New York University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Lingnan University, Hong Kong Baptist University, City University of Hong Kong, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Fudan University, East China Normal University, Shanghai Normal University and other institutions attended the meeting.

The logo of Academic activities needs to visually reflect a level of cultural depth and aesthetic taste. The traditional Chinese characters "沪Shanghai" and "港Hong Kong" both containing the same radical（ Tri-drips）were recreated to be a whole new Chinese character. The intent of which it to express the connotation that although沪Shanghai and 港Hong Kong are all located by the harbor area, they hold various similarities and differences in culture. The logo also takes the form of a Chinese seal.

The logo highlighted the forum name "沪Shanghai", "港Hong Kong", with a good directivity to the name. At the same time, it is solemn and elegant, rich in Oriental culture and aesthetic characteristics. Eventually，the logo program has been highly recognized and praised by the participants.
