The World Masters Squash Championships is a biennial international squash competition organized by the World Squash Federation for players above the age of 35 years. The Hong Kong event organizers requested a fresh approach as many squash competitions use similar images of players in action.
A visual audit was carried out of previous and similar squash competitions' logos. To avoid previously overused iconography of players and rackets, inspiration for the new logo came from local Hong Kong Chinese references using colors associated with good luck such as gold and red.
The final logo features stars from the city seal and references the pointy scales of its dragon design. The central element of the logo is a squash ball globe with its yellow dot pinpointing the event location, Hong Kong.
