The goal of this assignment was to capture a portrait utilizing only natural light. My subject matter is my friend Audrey, and my goal was to capture a photograph of her that encompassed her sweet spirit and the unique qualities that make her unique.

I felt that the best way to highlight the physical features of my model was to shoot at golden hour to complement her bright red hair. I decided that I wanted this photograph to be as natural as possible, so I told my model to come to the shoot wearing her signature hairstyle and as little makeup as possible. Through naturally occurring shadows, I created lines that frame the model's face and create texture throughout the entire composition.

This project resignated well with my peers because of its natural qualities. Everyone was drawn to the lines throughout the composition as well as the way that the models features were highlighted through the shadows and color scheme.
