This piece is based off of the article "Black Holes May Hide a Mind-Bending Secret About Our Universe" in the NYT. This is a mock-up illustration for an editorial-based piece.
Approach
I started with a word list that I took away from the article itself, then created a variety of ideation sketches that I associated with the words. I created this piece using procreate and illustrator.
Results
I found that this piece was rather successful at portraying the meaning of the article. The push and pull movement within the flow of the piece really gets the feeling of "black holes" across to the viewer.
