When approaching this project, I started with the iconic character, Nick Bottom, whose head is transformed temporarily into a donkey during the play. He is highly emblematic and is often used to depict "A Midsummer Night’s Dream". However this production is non-traditional—implementing puppets, ladders and extremes of scale to tell the story. It is expressive and experimental and therefore needed a poster that reflected its contemporary interpretation.
