We provided art direction for the exhibition all items of "Buddhist Sculpture from China to Japan" at the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts.
All the design items such as advance notice posters, digital signage, tickets, flyers, and catalogues are visually expressed with a unified concept.
By comparing Buddha images from different cultures in Japan and China, the concept of the exhibition, how Japan has embraced Chinese culture and acquired an original expression, has been incorporated into the visual expression.
The intentions of this exhibition are extended to the posters, with different colors for the background of each of the Chinese and Japanese Buddha images. This bicolor combination has been developed into a single identity for all items.
The exhibition was able to reach a wide range of people through the use of digital signage in train stations and posters in public spaces, contributing to attracting visitors to the exhibition.
It has also been used in train car advertisements, and its bi-colored identity, even when viewed from a distance, has strengthened the exhibition's appeal.
