Three of the book are full of energy, and some of them include the use of graphic sexual description and violence. The intermingling and interconnecting lines and shapes represent the ups and downs of the main characters, which many of them can get to the extreme. Ellis' novels are raw and sometimes controversial because of its explicit contents, therefore brights colors and sharp edges of the shapes are accentuated.
