WELLCOME TO THE MUSEUM, 2003
Concept: One view
Who, when and why (???) comes to the MUSEUM. Intellectuals and anybody who feels as such. How to attract them? "Welcome…” is a platitude that we can find on every STEP, yes STEP!!! Lets visualize a STEP INTO THE MUSEUM. But, intellectuals will sooner notice written mesages and they love to point out the illiteracy of their environment as ultimate SHAME. A mistake in the English word WELLCOME with one "L" extra is a real bait for „intellectual majority“ which we are inviting into museums and galleries around Croatia. This SEEMINGLY hidden motive ("LL") has converted the author's concept into an image and text dialogue as a communication constant in this arrangement. By merging several posters in a line, the text flows continuously, attaching one format to the other and making the image secondary.
No rasizm
Chess is a game with black and white pieces. These are the two opposing sides in a real war. When the chess pieces in different colors no longer opposing sides. It is true peace. This poster chess figures represent people of different skin colors and different life choices. Title No racism confirms this.
Welcome to the Museum of Contemporary Art
Zagreb, 2009
Concept: contemporariness
The word MUSEUM is shaped from McDonald's fast food logo.
Posters of museums usually picture artefacts exhibited in the museum. The question in this case was how to create posters particularly to reach young people and a public that doesn't normally go to museums. While there is culture and “spiritual food” consumed in a museum, the logo of McDonald's is a symbol for fast and cheap food. The poster utilises this well-known logo and tricks and turns it in such a way that the word “MUSEUM” is the result – a playful and well thought-out solution.
