TenFu's TEA is an international Chinese tea brand and their goals is to share their tea culture with world. Their existing packaging design is very old and traditional, so I wondered if their packaging would be attractive to people in other countries. Sometimes their packaging only showed Chinese and the traditional colors and patterns they used made it difficult for non-Chinese customers to know exacty what thier tea tastes like.

So, I designed the modern illustration style tea packaging with traditional Chinese elements such as a Chinese traditional teapot and East Asian scripts.

I was trying to show the feeling of tea so the color steam illustration is covering the packaging. Each illustration element such as color, flower, and leaves mean each flavor. I wanted everyone to know what it tastes like when they see the tea packaging. I was inspired by vertical writing in East Asian scripts so the product flavors are written vertically in columns going from top to bottom.

Three tea flavors were designed and people loved the interaction between illustration and teapot image.
