We were tasked with designing a logo for a Portland, Oregon made Red Ale called Rooster’s Rise.
Approach
Although I initially went through many iterations of this mark that were more immediately referential to Portland, I finally decided to go with a simpler, more direct approach that valued maximum immediate impact and communication.
Results
The Roosters Rise logo has four layers of meaning: A craft appropriate tulip glass is used here to give distinction and credibility to the mark. The tulip glass is used to give the rooster his body. The comb of the rooster is made from a stalk of barley malt (pre malting of course).
