The purpose of this project was to take a stance on a human rights issue. I chose the right to an education for girls because it is a serious issue. Girls around the world are not given the opportunity for an education, which could change the world if only we would educate girls. The goal of this poster is to make people aware of the problems girls face around the world, and how an education can help.

My approach was to show an empowering symbol and the mantra "Girls' Rights Are Human Rights". The hand in the photograph is that of a 12-year-old mixed race girl, a hand that could easily belong to anyone of any race or ethnicity.

I believe the project is successful in capturing the attention of the audience. The repeating and enlarging mantra creates a mesmerizing pattern to lead you into the powerful fist demands the right to be seen. My classmates and professor also thought the design was very successful.
