The Aaron Piscopo, the department head, selects the lot to be included in each cover shot. It is up to me to come up with a layout, light, and photograph the images in a way he and I are both happy with for the department's catalog. These three images are from 7172 Rare Guitars Signature Sale that ended April 3, 2022

I used low powered strobes slightly behind the flame paint guitar (front cover) to recreate the appearance of a guitar on stage. I rolled cylinders of seamless paper behind the red bass guitar (inside front cover) to make the background more interesting. On the Metallica Flying V guitar (back cover) I shot multiple images to have rusted metal in the background, the body of the guitar, it's neck, as well as a close-up of the signature.

The client Aaron Piscopo, head of Rare Guitars for Heritage Auctions was very pleased with the cover images. This was their highest grossing sale of 2022, realizing a total of $652,568 in sales.
