We believe in giving our lawyers the opportunity to make an impact on their communities around the world. In 2015, our people helped individuals and changed communities around the world. The Social Responsibility Review is an important tool in enhancing the White & Case brand. Each year, the Review highlights our pro bono work, community involvement and environmental sustainability efforts.
The audience for the Review is both internal and external. Internally, the audience is our entire staff. Externally, it includes clients, prospective clients, managing partners of other leading law firms and other industry leaders for Fortune 100 and 500 companies.
The theme for this year’s Social Responsibility Review is “Justice,” highlighting pro bono, legal education and community engagement activities that are promoting justice around the world.
Striking photographs of individuals have been used in the Social Responsibility Review to create a personal connection for the reader with the four areas of justice highlighted in the book. We created unique icons for each area of justice covered to enable the reader to easily navigate through the book. Clean typography and clearly structured layouts evoke a magazine-like storytelling experience for the reader.
Q&As with our lawyers, first-person accounts and information about other relevant deals and initiatives were used to add details to the feature stories, provide visual interest and present varying perspectives. In addition, call-out quotes sending broad messages to the readers were used for each feature story.
The brochure and coordinating website help the Firm reach a significantly wider audience than otherwise would have been possible. Firm marketing staff use the brochure to reach out to both clients and prospective clients because it demonstrates the Firm’s wide scope of achievements in a visually and editorially compelling way. The combination of visual and editorial elements allows the Review to make a far greater impact than just verbal communications or written briefs about the Firm’s achievements. At the same time, the Review provides a compelling story to the Firm’s internal audience underscoring the relevancy and excellence of their work.
