The 2014 launch of Blake’s Hard Cider went so well that they decided to experiment with some new seasonal blends as well as bottle some of the flavors they originally only had on tap in their tasting room at their Ciderhouse. The assignment was to create labels for five new seasonally released ciders that would complement the original designs (2014 Graphis Design Annual Silver Winner – Packaging).

Since the seasonal ciders are done in limited batches we decided to personify the flavor name more than the previous labels. Imagery was incorporated into the title/name of the cider in order to distinguish the flavor characteristics, and to generate excitement around the new flavors.

All of the ciders have been received very well. So well that distribution has been increased. El Chavo, has now become their second best-selling flavor.
