The photographer aimed to portray both the local SCAD student design talent and the unique urban landscape of Hong Kong with this series of promotional images for the SCAD Hong Kong Fashion Showcase, where outstanding SCAD senior and graduate collections are presented to an international audience. In the bustling Temple Market, glowing neon signs echoed the electric color palettes in garments by Dawn Bey and Jeffrey Taylor, bringing each designer’s carefully chosen details to life. The tranquil gardens and temple doors of La Chi Kok provided respite from the ever-moving city as well as a serene setting for Taylor’s floral collection and all-white ensembles by Janet Chau. In each photograph, the landscape and the design harmonize for an enticing image that positions Hong Kong and SCAD student designers as fashion forces to be reckoned with.
