ULTA is the only beauty retailer that puts all things beauty, from mass to prestige, across every category, under one roof. When we interviewed ULTA devotees and women who love beauty, they likened shopping there to being a kid in a candy store, except now they had money. So, for ULTA’s first advertising campaign in the company’s 25-year history, we partnered with surrealist photographer David LaChapelle to bring that feeling to life. Every piece of “candy” or “sweet” in the print advertisement is made out of one or more of the 20,000 products that ULTA sells. The entire image was captured in camera, and no CGI was used to build out the set.
