Since the mid-1950s, SVA has been commissioning contemporary designers and illustrators to create NYC subway platform posters to advertise the College.
Approach
Starting in 2018, the College began asking the artists it commissioned to use the prompt “Art Is!” to create their poster.
Results
Pablo Delcan’s solution was the first in this series. Delcan, an alumni and current faculty member of SVA's BFA Graphic Design department, chose to display the message abstractly using computer-generated lettering.
