In early 2014, St. Petersburg Distillery approached us about its fledgling company. It didn’t have an identity, a logo or a brand strategy. It simply had a name and the ability to make fine craft spirits. Over the months that followed, we’d be tasked with branding the distillery and creating four separate spirits brands from scratch, with more on the way. One of these brands was a high-quality orange liqueur made from real Florida oranges.
We chose to celebrate the distillery’s Florida provenance and heritage, and emphasize how contained the process of crafting this orange liqueur is, from growing to distilling all within Florida. Tippler’s Orange Liqueur recalls old Florida, when the state was a frontier for orange growers, smugglers and speculators.
As St. Petersburg Distillery released Tippler’s Orange Liqueur, they rolled out a strategy to make it the preferred choice in margaritas and other flavored cocktails throughout the state, bringing a higher quality alternative that’s Florida-made from Florida oranges.
