Working with a primarily green color palette and minimal detail, the illustrator captured the essence of each animal with enough important defining features to make each recognizable. The subtle changes to the many green tones, with details including spots, underbelly, and toes in shades of brown, accentuate the differences among the four frogs. Each frog is shown sitting on a typical plant found in its native habitat. The image on each stamp includes a bit of overlap where the frog’s leg or toes extend slightly beyond the rectangle that contains it.
