Assignment
Legion Season 3 was a full psychedelic telepathic relationship crisis – the Protagonist David Haller is now a hippie cult leader, and his ex-girlfriend is out to kill him to save the world.
Approach
Inspired by Peter Max, H.R. Pufnstuf and acid-trip album art we commissioned artists to illustrate not just the final season’s themes but also to drop narrative clues from the previous two seasons as well. The protagonist David is now a cult leader – manipulative, pulling the strings, seducing recruits with the promise of love and acceptance. Illustrators captured the majesty of David’s ascendance and all the tendrils of influence that flow from him. We pulled from previous seasons for audience-teasing easter eggs and worked from reference photography shot specifically for this composition, including the three mains plus table top photos of show props.
Results
The results were a campaign of diverse posters and billboards dense with easter-eggs.
