As an ad agency that places a premium on its culture, Dixon Schwabl wanted to encourage its staff to represent itself in a meaningful way, to foster a stronger internal brand and promote the agency in the community.
So we created Storyline, a seasonal collection developed by our in-house designers. The team realized employees wouldn’t want to use the items unless they embodied a certain “cool” factor. Simply slapping our logo on a T-shirt wouldn’t cut it.
The agency also devised a unique way for employees to pay for Storyline items. Upon being hired, then periodically after, employees are given 10 poker chips. Whenever a colleague goes above and beyond, employees can award a chip as a thank-you. The chips can then be used to purchase Storyline items.
The mug is dipped in white enamel and hung to dry. The black rim and the red handle are then hand dipped again giving each one it a unique personality. The graphics are printed in a water-slide decal application and placed on the mug by hand wrapping the outside, bottom and inside bottom of the mug.
The 2018 Storyline collection was unveiled to great enthusiasm at an all-agency meeting. This mug sprang from that collection and was a fan favorite with over 200 ordered. They were distributed with surprise drops at employee's desks in a spray painted muslin bag tagged with the storyline logo.
