This assignment called for creating a brandmark for the company Burger Buzz, a review site for burger chains around the United States where foodies can share their favorite spots to grab a meal.
In approaching this assignment, I wanted to highlight the jubilant feeling of chatting with others about a meal. For this, I combined the forms of a burger and a speech bubble. The goal was to create a lively brandmark that depicts a sense of effervescent appeal, but also establishes a memorable mark that can be developed further into a timeless brand experience.
In finalizing the emblem, I wanted a straightforward design that would capture the diner-esque mood of a classic burger. The typeface and decorative ellipses were chosen to echo the rounded forms in the burger, bun, and speech bubble. The colors were chosen to highlight the bright, appetizing quality of fast food restaurants. The bubbly emblem was well received by several design faculty members, peers, and effectively communicated the brand voice.
