The assignment was to create an ad campaign for single use plastics that is strong enough to make the viewer think twice about their plastic usage.
Approach
We decided to portray the huge impact single use plastics have on our world by comparing them to weapons of mass destruction. Plastic is made to last forever, and its effects on our planet can be equivalent to nuclear weapons, bombs, and much more. Once the damage is done, there is no going back.
Results
This non-profit ad campaign was able to visually communicate a mushroom cloud made out of plastic bags to symbolize the wide scope of damage plastic has, a nuclear bomb out of water bottles to portray the direct impact of plastic usage, and a plastic grenade to show how destruction is truly in our hands. This project was best in class, receiving a high grade.
