Sometimes an idea falls in your lap. The Tampa Bay Rowdies of the North American Soccer League had just posted a social video if its players successfully performing a pretty amazing trick, which quickly earned 3 million views. So we suggested turning it into a broadcast commercial to share with Tampa/St. Pete residents that may not follow the team online, but could be drawn to a game through the players’ combination of teamwork and excitement.
The original video was more than 30 seconds, so we sped up the pace then added superimposed copy and a call to action at the end.
The team and existing fans loved seeing the spot on TV, and new fans took notice. Season ticket sales increased by 56% and overall ticket sales increased 67% during the 2015 season.
