The design is a reinterpretation of the association's logo. Macau was a colony of Portugal. In 1999, Macau was handed over to China as a special administrative region. The goverment of Macau and the public servants went through significant changes in the transition. In this design, all the outlines are kept the same as the original logo, meaning traditions are inherited and respected. The vibrant colors in multiple facets are intended to bring out the face from the original monochromatic logo. That symbolizes public services have been changed to become more humanized with extended variety and flexibility. The golden spiral, which is the core of the design symbolizing pursuit of perfection, also goes intriguingly with the face in harmony. This design is a unique combination of colors, shapes, and symbolism.
