This poster was designed to be seen hanging throughout The Design School at Arizona State University and as a banner in the outdoor courtyard. The goal is to notify students about the current year’s lecture series and remind them to attend.
The Design School’s architecture is composed of a variety of squares and boxes stacked in various sizes and configurations. This poster plays off the building’s geometry, in both the custom display typography, and in the overall pattern. The color palette counteracts the regularity of such a basic shape by adding a dynamic quality that is distinctly reflective of the Sonoran Desert.
This poster caused a lot of buzz around campus. People said it definitely grabbed their attention, even when it was crammed on walls with lots of other materials.
