Underutilized in graphic design, laser cutting technology offers exciting opportunities for the planar creation of type and image. As in much of my self-initiated work, the message focuses on mankind's treatment of the environment and itself.

Depth and precision are emphasized by multiple layers of paper—solid and void—creating shadow.

The notion of "system collapse" is largely a comment on the relationship between humans and the environment. Yet, especially given the political atmosphere of 2017, the statement "we are interconnected / we exploit when we should protect," connotes a civil concept. The layered planes and fragility of the fragmented piece support the concept of interconnection through the x, y, and z axes.
