Every year the Strong National Museum of Play inducts new video games into the World Video Game Hall of fame. The posters were used to promote the event to the families visiting the rest of the children's museum for playtime.
The Strong is one of the country's largest children's museums. What separates them from the rest is they are also home to both the toy and video game hall of fames. These posters promoted the World Video Game Hall of Fame to visiting families by treating the iconic characters of video games past as modern day works of art. David Cowles, of Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair fame, provided illustration in a cubist style to further reinforce the games as if seen in an art museum.
Adult visitors loved the posters so much the client was inundated with requests and now they sell them in the gift shop to help provide additional revenue.
