Creation of an image to promote ticket sales for the stage production of Diary of Anne Frank, produced by the award winning Writers Theater in Glencoe, IL USA
I was influenced by the corner portraits of Irving Penn to create a small, minimally descriptive space to suggest the attic in which the story of Anne Frank unfolds. A small set was built and scenic painted on which the young talent was directed. Lighting was to suggest combined desperation and hopelessness of life cloistered in hiding.
Ticket sales were above expectation and the production extended by several months. The play was nominated for a 2015 Jeff Award for Theater Excellence.
