Honeycomb Social Events is a design-led event company that helps communities build and measure social capital. Each event is created specifically to increase trust and reciprocity among citizens and between neighboring communities.
The approach to social design is to find the right combination of bonding, bridging and linking techniques to help reduce social fragmentation and build social capital in and between communities. Bold graphics energize these activities with the addition of a vivid color palette. Each event has its own concept and key imagery that is used for promotional posters. A familiar tabloid newspaper format helps kickoff each community engagement in small towns by communicating the goals of the program.
The company is in its formative stages and is applying for academic grants to launch regional projects in the U.S. Digital extensions are in progress, as well as a catalog of standardized event protocols, themes, and methods for measuring social capital.
