Red Square was approached by a Tacoma-based restaurateur about a fast-casual concept called “Waffle Stop.” While waffles have been around forever, this concept was new — so our team collaborated with the owners to develop the brand (forgive the pun) from scratch.
Our team designed every aspect of the Waffle Stop brand identity — including the logo, iconography, environmental design, menu and swag. All illustrations were meticulously handcrafted to shape a vibrant and fun personality.
In addition to in-store elements, we built a beautiful and entertaining website to support the launch of the new brand. The homepage displays tasty full-screen photography of dishes and proudly articulates a bold new approach with the brand’s “Yumifesto:”
The waffle has suffered a great injustice. Trapped in the world of breakfast food, this delicious and dynamic treat has not had the chance to spread its syrupy wings and soar to the culinary heights for which it was truly made. Until now.
Waffle Stop has been a success since the day it opened its doors in December 2017, and waffles are now outselling pancakes 3-to-1 in the Tacoma DMA.
