I shot portraits of opioid addicts for an online investigative report about the opioid crisis in America and how complicit both the medical community and the pharmaceutical companies have been in pursuit of obscene profits.
The people being interviewed were nervous and on edge so it was necessary for the camera to be as inconspicuous as possible. So of course I chose to use a quite small digital camera, one that was capable of producing quality images. Being less obtrusive allowed me to move about and shoot in a more candid style.
This allowed me to be less obtrusive and ade it possible and more intiment
The report is starting to generate a lot of media interest. I hope my photography contributes to a positive impact in some way, that would be a wonderful result.
