Identity and catalogo for an exhibition of “Campo Grafico”, an historical “journal of aesthetics and graphic technique”, avvenuta nel marzo/aprile 2022 presso l'ADI Design Museum-Compasso d'Oro Prize, di Milano.
The catalog – in addition to the narration of the salient features of the history of “Campo Grafico”, accompanied by over 100 images – includes a poster [size 46 x 64 cm] illustrated with all 66 covers and the transcription (with English language translation by James Clough) of 12 original journal articles. The 'Campo Grafico' journal, as well as a unique and globally recognized cultural movement, expression of the avant-gardes of the 20th century in the field of Typography and Visual Communication, has defined the style of Italian graphic design in the world. The design solution of the catalog – experimentally reproduced in digital printing in 500 limited edition copies – is inspired by the “Campo Grafico” original graphics, expressing a multifaceted phenomenon.
The catalog is written in both Italian and English language and the exhibition is part of the 'Milano Graphic Festival', an event an event that attracted around 20,000 visitors. The project – developed for the 'Campo Grafico Association', the official organism dedicated to preservation and documental popularization of the original journal, has increased the awareness of the Association with worldwide resonance. Visits to the site – www.campografico.org – and sharing of social media pages have doubled. Furthermore, increasing the attention from an international audience, the requests to the Association to create workshops about 'Campo Grafico' at cultural institutions and universities have increased. The latest was a seminar held this year for the Pratt Institute in New York.
