This calendar is based on tread patterns of six different tires. The pattern on the side of the tire is expressed in gold. Woodcuts of the tread pattern are stuck in the center of the calendar. Woodcuts have a combination of techniques: painter, carver, and sculptor. Similarly, tire manufacturing has a combination of design, processing, development and craftsmanship. The size of the woodcut is based on the contact area between the tire and the ground.
