DLR Group is one of two firms selected for a program that will use federal stimulus funds to provide free pre-kindergarten learning for 16,500 eligible three-year-old children in new 3-K centers to be constructed in existing spaces in all five boroughs of New York City. The second project in line, the Dyre 3-K Center, is a renovation to an existing educational space. Design of the Center takes inspiration from the local neighborhood, with a focus on the abstract shapes that visually combine to create the architecture of nearby buildings.

The XGD Studio at DLR Group was originally tasked with developing a large wall graphic in the entry of the space that will provide a welcoming moment for both users and visitors. In addition to that graphic, a series of posters were developed from the initial design that will be featured in circulation areas of the facility. The playful shapes will also be used on a variety of branded elements such as posters, mugs and tote bags. DLR Group provided experiential graphic design and interior design services on the project.

The project is currently in construction and will be completed late Summer 2022.
