We were commissioned to create a type-led series of awareness posters for the BITC charity, illustrating the dangers to which small businesses are exposed. A business is a labour of love. For most, a data breach, a riot or a flood could spell bankruptcy.
The idea was to open the conversation with a real, but uncomfortable possibility: that all the hard work could be lost due to an unexpected event. Extreme weather, fire, widespread hacking, civil unrest — it can all affect business, and small businesses are on the frontline. Through the mean of dramatic typographic designs, we wanted to encourage businesspeople to think about the risks they might face, and take steps to prepare themselves for all kinds of shocks.
A series of 4 thematic headlines, brought to life with visually highly realistic typographic treatments, featuring physically damaged type, showing the impact a series of unexpected events could have on a business.
