The Bolt Futurist Poster series reflects the works of three assigned influential scientists from three different periods of time. The work and/or life of these scientists are reflected in these posters utilizing dynamic imagery, typography, and grid structure.
The inventions of these technical pioneers is portrayed through graphic symbols. Samuel Morse's Morse code is portrayed by a series of rectangles and circles. Nikola Tesla's Alternating Current Generator is shown through zig-zag lines. Elon Musk's Space X breakthroughs using computer code is shown through 1's and 0's to reflect the computer's language of binary. To juxtapose these graphics is imagery based on the contributions of these inventions. Morse code's effect on communication is represented by two open mouths. Tesla's generator's effect on modern day electricity is represented by two light bulbs. Musk's Space X effect on space travel is shown through two planets. One image is in black and white and one image is in saturated color signifying the "before and after" their inventions in society.
The Bolt Futurist Poster series juxtaposes the work of these notorious scientists against their contribution made to society. For example, Samuel Morse's invention of Morse Code is contrasted against the way his invention enhanced global communication. This juxtaposition is reached by laying a foundation of the graphic symbols with the overlaying of the two images.
