Environmental poster. The purpose of this poster is to draw attention to the diminishing natural resources. Money is not everything. What can we do with money when food, oxygen and water are consumed?
The skull means end of the life. Therefore I used a donkey skull on this poster. When you look from the top, there are two holes in the skull of the donkey, and one of the below. These holes and the shape of the head resembles the surprised human face. When the natural resources are exhausted and there is nothing left in his possession, there will be a painful expression of astonishment on the face of people.
Why did I use a animal head? Why is not the human skull? The death of living beings and the depletion of natural resources means the destruction of mankind. I wanted to emphasize the connection between man and nature.
I used the runic alphabet theme because people in the times of the runic alphabet were more respectful to nature.
The donkey skull is mine. Not a stock photo. I used ink for letters. The English texts on the sides of the poster are the English translation of the Turkish which are on the skull.
I designed this poster in 2016 for Lahti Poster Triennial and this poster selected for exhibition. It will be exhibited in Finland, in June 2017.
