Every day in America, almost 50 people die from opioid overdose. Ohio is at the frontlines of this epidemic, with more overdoses than any other state. Cuyahoga County, home to the city of Cleveland, is the deadliest County in the state, with almost 600 deaths in 2016 alone.
We needed to alert people as to the dangers of opioid/painkiller abuse and reach them before their addiction can even begin.
Despite widespread media coverage, the opioid epidemic was still escalating. Which meant we had to create something breakthrough – a visually arresting approach that equates deadly weapons with deadly prescription drugs.
This is how everyone came to Know The Risks.
The campaign recently launched with impressive media coverage in Cuyahoga County. Early successes indicate that the campaign may be expanded statewide. In addition, other cities across the nation have reached out to inquire about how to implement this campaign in their local community.
