Each spring, Auburn University's Graphic Design Program hosts a juried student show. Students and the public are treated to a guest lecturer and an exhibition of the selected work. This spring, well known designer and author Gail Anderson, serves as the speaker and juror for the show. The purpose of the poster is to communicate information about the featured event and inspire students to submit their work to the show.

This poster was inspired by optical patterns. In addition, it celebrates the layering of kinetic elements in design as well as type as image. The design features two printing techniques—digital printing and silkscreen printing. The bottom layer of color shapes and type are printed digitally in house and the black pattern with type is screen printed on top of the digital printing. Each poster was screen printed in house. The process of screen printing allows for perfect and imperfect printing techniques to come together on one surface.

This limited edition set of posters were digitally printed in house on French Paper Recycled White #100 Cover + silkscreen printed in house using black ink on the digital print. The posters are coveted items among the students because of the unique design and limited number of prints.
