Create a a poster to promote the annual conference “Typographics” held in New York City.

The process was done as a sequential series of exercises and experimentation using Swiss typographic systems with the typeface Univers. Experimentation was done with scanning the printed studies to reflect a period in time where typography was distorted with photographic means. This is a nod to those methods.

The resulting poster was assembled by scanned pieces of the type distortions. The overall composition was pieced together and converted to be reproduced as a 2 color poster. Legibility was achieved by iterating with varying degrees of distortions. Each composed piece of type was selected with those criteria in mind.
