This poster was created for the Personal Expression in Type exhibition that was showcased at the University of Texas at Arlington. Designers were to choose a typeface to experiment with and make it personal to them.
Approach
The typeface chosen for this poster was Franklin Gothic and the letters were morphed into following objects represented in traditional tattoo art. The letters were created in Adobe Illustrator and shaded to add a grungy effect to the poster. All of the letters follow the traditional tattoo theme, such as the R for Rose and the K for knife.
Results
Traditional tattoo art is composed of beautiful line work and edgy themes that have always been a part of my life. I admire the beauty of it and decided to replicate it in my own style of design.
