“I know because I read” is a project promoting reading among students, troubled youth and convicts. It is a series of meetings with Paweł Cwynar - ex gangster who had succesfully started a new life as a writer. The aim of the meetings is to encourage reading and writing, to show the advantages of it.

Reading reduces stress, stimulates the brain, helps to develop artistic sensitivity and enhances empathy. It is a perfect tool for rehabilitation and personal development.

As the target group is pretty wide, I have decided to illustrate the fact that books stimulate the brain. I used paper as a tool of choice - a very bookish material. I cut colorful papers into shapes and i made photos. Then I photographed books and combined images in Photoshop.

The client was very happy with the outcome.
