In 2008 Sydney’s prestigious Queen Victoria Building commenced a refurbishment programme to enhance its’ heritage value and appeal as a world-class shopping destination. A two-year project, including a new Victorian-inspired colour scheme more reflective of the original, QVB’s management wanted to ensure valued customers and visitors were informed of the refurbishment and suffered no inconvenience. In response to this brief, we devised a series of in-house and street posters that drew attention to the QVB’s makeover, by drawing on the key positioning of ‘fashion palace’ and the simple message of “let the refurbishments begin, let the shopping continue”.
