This international harmonica convention is held each August in a different U.S. city. In 2019 the destination was Tulsa, Oklahoma. I continued my role and responsibility for designing the annual convention branding for the event.

Tulsa is a city well-known for its presence on historic Route 66 as well as being known for its art deco architecture. I drew heavily upon an American WPA style and color schemes for this poster. My approach was to capture the personality of the host city combined with the spirit of the harmonica community that attends the event.

I believe that the end result is a balance between a sense of place and the mission of SPAH to advance and preserve the harmonica.
