I wanted the poster to capture a moment in time from the experience of Woodstock. The image needed to be accessible to all, something in which the poster's audience can relate. Aside from the music, Woodstock is famously known for the rain and the mud. I felt a muddy foot would be an excellent place for the psychedelic typography from that period in art and design. The floral pattern in the background is based on the late sixties early seventies peace and love flower graphic. I replaced the center of the graphic with the target icon created specifically for The Who.
