This project was redesigning the cover of a book and I decided to work on The Bell Jar. My main goal was to create depth by using only typography to represent the psychological trauma covered in the book.
Approach
The visual was created physically by printing the title and taking pictures of the folded paper from different angles. The blurry text was added in the same colour as the visual to create more depth and, most importantly, to create a bridge between the image and the white legible text.
Results
The composition and blending worked successfully. I intended to use typography as the main element and it ended up as a more unconventional approach than the book covers that have been made for The Bell Jar. My professor and my peers appreciated my work and gave positive feedback.
