In all honesty, this project came about from a part-time job I had at Whole Foods. In times of slow work and dwindling inspiration, I found myself surrounded by quality produce and entertained myself by imagining the more unappealing ways to visualize food. Thanks to the mandatory video on proper food handling, I felt compelled to dollop whipped cream on top of an organic, free range, sulfate free pork chop.
I propped up the pork using an entirely unsanitary combination of acrylic pieces and UHU tack (neither of which survived) and proceeded to wash my hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and hot water between styling and shooting.
I was delighted by the results; the pork and my dinner guest, less so.
