This poster for the 1959 film Ben-Hur was inspired by Sanborn Insurance Maps. I made custom typography, and created ornamentation by borrowing elements from the armor of Roman soldiers in the film. The poster was letterpressed on matte black paper with metallic gold, silver, and bronze inks.
